Skin Care
Photos of your wedding day will last a lifetime. The last thing you want to worry about is a skin break on your big day. It is crucial that in the months leading up to the wedding you are doing everything that you can to protect your skin. There are several basic rules to follow. Starting a new skin care regimen takes weeks for your skin to acclimate. So if you decide to use new products, begin the process a few months out. Every night before you go to sleep make sure to wash your face makeup off. There is nothing worse for your skin then sleeping with makeup on. The dirt and bacteria are bound to cause breakouts and irritation. It is also imperative that you get rid of any old makeup that could be harboring bacteria. Wash your makeup brushes at least once every couple days to ensure that they are clean to use on your face. If you decide to get a facial, it is best to do it 3-5 days before the wedding so that your skin has a chance to rejuvenate itself from the harsh exfoliation and extractions.
Your Hair & Makeup
The key to fabulous hair and makeup on your big day is feeling comfortable in the style that you choose. I highly recommend setting up a Trial Run with us! Tear out any photos you like from magazines or celebrity photos so that you can show the artist what your ideas are. If you never wear your hair up, an up-do may not be the right style for you. Or if you never wear red lipstick, this may not be the right color to compliment your look. Your makeup and hair should highlight your features. When it comes to makeup, color is the secret. Yet it is knowing the right colors to choose and where to place them. Cheeks and lips should be accented with either a bright or warm shade of peach, berry, or pink. Brown tones on the lips will wash you out in photos. For the eye makeup, neutral shades are always a safe bet; however you can also use complimentary colors to help your eyes stand out in photos. For Blue eyes, peach, gold, plum; Green eyes, purple, pinks; Brown/Hazel eyes, green, bronze. The more comfortable you feel with your bridal look, the more confident you will be walking down the aisle and smiling for photos throughout the day!
